In plain English

Movement has a purpose.

NDIS physiotherapy looks at how movement, strength, balance, pain or a neurological condition affects what you want and need to do. Your physiotherapist assesses your current function, agrees meaningful goals with you, then builds a practical plan for your home and community.

A plan built around real-world movement—not exercise for exercise’s sake.

What Physiotherapy actually is

Support that connects clinical expertise with everyday goals.

We begin with the person’s strengths, preferences, environments and what they want life to make easier. Assessment guides a practical plan that can be understood, used and reviewed.

1

Move around home more safely

Assessment explores how to move around home more safely, looking at strengths, barriers and the support already available.

2

Build strength for transfers

Practical strategies for building strength for transfers are shaped around the person’s preferences, routines and everyday environments.

3

Return to a valued activity

Sessions build toward being able to return to a valued activity through relevant practice, useful supports and collaboration with the people involved.

4

Manage pain and fatigue

Progress toward managing pain and fatigue through making changes that are meaningful in daily life.

Could Physiotherapy be right for you?

Start with a conversation—not a commitment.

Mobility, strength and balance

Build physical capacity for safer, more confident movement in daily life.

03

Pain and musculoskeletal support

Understand physical barriers and develop strategies for pain, movement and activity.

04

Falls prevention and confidence

05

Hydrotherapy planning

Use water-based exercise where it is clinically suitable and meaningful to the person.

06

Home exercise programs

07

Mobility equipment advice

Assess mobility needs and provide recommendations or trials where appropriate.

08

Functional assessments and reports

Document physical function, support needs and clinically justified recommendations.

Recommendations do not guarantee NDIS funding. Approval depends on the participant’s plan and applicable NDIS criteria.

What happens next

A clear path from your goals to practical support.

The exact pathway depends on the person’s needs, location, clinical requirements and NDIS funding. We explain each step in plain language.

We listen

We learn about your priorities, strengths, routines, current supports and what is getting in the way.

We assess

Your clinician gathers the information needed to understand function, context and the purpose of support.

We recommend

Together, we agree on realistic strategies, therapy or recommendations connected to your goals.

We put it into practice

We help apply the plan in everyday life, review progress and adjust support when needed.

What is the difference between physiotherapy and occupational therapy?

Physiotherapy usually focuses on movement, strength, balance, pain and physical function. Occupational therapy focuses on participating in daily activities and may address routines, environments or assistive technology. The disciplines often work together.

Can physiotherapy help with neurological disability?

It may support mobility, balance, strength, positioning and task practice for people with neurological conditions. Recommendations depend on an individual assessment.

Do I need a referral?

You can contact Bloom directly. If you have an NDIS plan, our team can also work with your support coordinator, plan manager or other treating professionals.

Where are appointments held?

We primarily support people at home and in the community, with telehealth available when clinically appropriate. Clinic appointments may be available case by case.

Can Bloom work with my existing support team?

Yes. With your consent, we can collaborate with family, support workers, educators and other clinicians so strategies are practical and consistent.

How do I know whether my NDIS plan can fund this service?

Funding depends on whether your support relates to your disability goals and approved budget. If you have Improved Daily Living funding it is more than likely you will be able to access Physiotherapy. Our team can discuss your individual needs.
