Movement develops through meaningful play.
Paediatric physiotherapy supports children whose disability, developmental difference, injury or health condition affects movement and participation. The physiotherapist learns what matters to the child and family, assesses movement in meaningful activities, and uses play, practice, equipment advice and family coaching to build skills across home, early learning, school and community life.
Therapy uses play and everyday routines so movement practice feels meaningful and can continue between appointments.
Support that connects clinical expertise with everyday goals.
We begin with the person’s strengths, preferences, environments and what they want life to make easier. Assessment guides a practical plan that can be understood, used and reviewed.
Join in play and playground activities
Assessment explores how your child joins in play and playground activities today, including strengths, barriers and the support already available.
Move around home or school more confidently
Practical strategies help your child move around home, early learning or school more confidently, shaped around their interests and routines.
Build balance, strength and coordination
Sessions build balance, strength and coordination through play-based practice, useful supports and collaboration with the people involved.
Develop comfortable movement options
Progress toward comfortable movement options is reviewed through changes that are meaningful in daily life, with support adjusted when needed.
Start with a conversation—not a commitment.

Answers before you begin.
If you are unsure whether paediatric physiotherapy is the right service, speak with our team. You do not need to diagnose the solution yourself.
What does a paediatric physiotherapist help with?
A paediatric physiotherapist assesses how a child moves and participates, then supports goals involving gross motor development, balance, coordination, strength, mobility, positioning, endurance or equipment. Support is tailored to the child’s age, interests and daily environments.
Will therapy be play-based?
Often, yes. Play and meaningful activities help children practise movement skills in ways that are engaging and relevant. The exact approach depends on the child’s preferences, developmental stage and clinical needs.
Can the physiotherapist work with our childcare or school?
With consent, the physiotherapist can collaborate with educators and other supports so strategies are practical in the environments where the child learns and participates.
Can parents and carers be involved?
Yes. Family-centred practice includes listening to family priorities and building achievable strategies into existing routines without turning every activity into therapy.
Do I need a referral?
You can contact Bloom directly. If you have an NDIS plan, our team can also work with your support coordinator, plan manager or other treating professionals.
Where are appointments held?
We primarily support people at home and in the community, with telehealth available when clinically appropriate. Clinic appointments may be available case by case.
Can Bloom work with my existing support team?
Yes. With your consent, we can collaborate with family, support workers, educators and other clinicians so strategies are practical and consistent.
How do I know whether my NDIS plan can fund this service?
Funding depends on your plan and whether the support relates to your disability, goals and approved budget. Our team can discuss your situation, but only the NDIA or your plan manager can confirm funding.
